Rotoworld.com is the best place to go for news on players in any sport. I’ve been pushing them on you for a while now, and it is still my first stop for sports news. They informed me about the situation in Boston this morning, which is pretty cool.
Apparently, when the MLBPA agreed to the deal to send the Red Sox and A’s to Japan, they negotiated a $40K appearance fee for the players and coaches. Word got out yesterday that the coaches might get shorted, and the Red Sox players are having none of it. We often see coaches and players stick up for one another. This is something new, though, as the entire squad is threatening to stay in the US if their coaches don’t get paid.

And that is just ONE of the reasons I am a Red Sox fan. Solidarity, baby. I am making 25 copies of the original article and mailing them to the Wolf Pack basketball team and coaches in the hope that they can take a page out of the BoSox book and get along.
