Does a .366 batting average, ten homers, and eight steals sound like something you might be interested in? What about an OPS of 1.059 to go along with his 37 RBIs? Jay Bruce is currently playing outfield for AAA Louisville, in the Reds organization. The lefty is on track for a June call-up, and could arrive quicker if the Reds trade Ken Griffey Jr. back to Seattle. While he does strike out a lot (39 times so far this year, with only 11 bases on balls drawn), Bruce can straight up rake. Those in need of outfield help may want to keep their eyes on Bruce, and when the 2007 Minor League Player of the Year (Baseball America, Sporting News) will make his ML debut. You can do so by checking back at The Sports Idiot, because we’ll be sure to keep you posted on his progress.

Well while you’re keeping us posted…. why don’t you get a picture up of the actual Jay Bruce? Cause that isn’t him.
No need to be a wise ass. I fixed it?
I was just kidding man.
It’s okay, I can take it. Thanks for stopping by, even if the Reds suck ass. Can you tell Edwin to stop hitting like my niece?
I think losing Kepp is huge. Cueto has imploded, but looking into his numbers I’m not sure what his problem is. Insight?
They do stink. It’s their own fault. If I could have told you that the Corey Patterson experiment was a flop and that they were just throwing away what could have been 2 productive months from Jay Bruce; why for some reason (if winning is the first priority) couldn’t the Reds front office have decided that? The same thing has happened on a much smaller scale with our former #1 pick Homer Bailey; being overshadowed by Josh Fogg and a never will be type Matt Belisle.
I will stop back and I will link you.
Homer Bailey will still be a stud, in my opinion. People are way too quick to forget about him. Cueto and Bailey will be a great 1 – 2 punch next year. I’m certain of it.
I am hoping Cueto and Bailey will be our 3-4 punch bro. Edison Volquez is a 1 I believe, and Harang is showing his true colors which is a high end #2. We only need bailey to be a 4. Scary I know
Yeah, but at some point don’t you expect the Reds to screw up Volquez or trade him for someone stupid like Royce Clayton? I like the progress Harang has shown, and I like the rest of the starters too. I think Cueto is going to be really good, so yes, the Reds could have a nice rotation next year if Cueto and Bailey are the 3 – 4. Harang gets overlooked a lot, but he has been solid, and my boy Neetzi just pointed out to me his age, which I thought was higher than it is. Let’s hope the Reds keep their heads on right and don’t mess it up.
Do you think they will move Dunn? He’s a free agent after this season, right? Maybe they can package him and Volquez for Jason Schmidt. (I’m being sarcastic, if you can’t tell)
