He may wind up in Philly, where he would be a great fit. The Phils are not expected to resign Pat Burrel, which opens up left field for Manny. It will be interesting to see if they spend the money it will take, or give him the four years I think he is looking for. The Dodgers offered him a two year deal, and it wasn’t long enough. It may not have been rich enough either.

Is Varitek going to resign? I think Boras is his agent, and you know that asshole always tries to rape teams for big money, but it’s pretty obvious Tek is on the downside of his career. I see a big struggle to get him back to Boston. The bad part is that he’s the kind of guy you want to stay with your team after he’s done playing as a coach or community liaison. I’d love to see him stay in Boston, but not for a long term big money contract.
