Why I Like Sidney Lowe.

Andy Katz penned a great piece on NC State’s two headed recruiting monster, Head Coach Sidney Lowe and Assistant Coach Monte Towe.  All Wolfpack fans know that both of these guys won Nattys while playing point guard for the Pack.  Check out the article, it may make Pack fans feel a little bit better right now.

You already know how I feel about it, but what do you honestly think of The Easy Button and the jump he’s done? About his potential? And why? And while we’re at it, how about TOB? I’m sure you’ve seen my thoughts on him, but I’d like to hear from a State guy that can verbalize his thoughts rationally without getting all pissy-pantsed.

Pat, are you asking for a State of State entry? That will take some time. Time that I don’t know if I have right now. However, it is an entry that I think could be a good one, so I’ll see what I can do.

I don’t feel better? Sorry but would be much more comfortable with those two playing rather than on our sidelines sorry.

    ^What does that mean?

Champs, before you post the State of State I’m going to send you an email. I figure I’ve got some time, but I’ll get it to you by the end of the weekend. Just a few points I want to raise with you before hand, get your input on them.

It means they both can’t coach and I don’t feel any better about our chances as long as monte and Sid are involved.

I hear you. Just didn’t understand the comment at first.

    I agree, BTW.

But sadly we have been hearing the same old excuses already.

  8. 8 thesportsidiot

What excuses would those be, K?

Well ,He is still learning on the job,no point guard {I think that is on him)………….Now it is all his players……………We are young ……………etc I could go on .

Please do go on. Seriously. Lets get this all out on the table and discuss it.

Lets also look at the facts while we do so.

Has he failed to bring in a good point guard or coach up the ones he has? Absolutely. I will spare you the “wait for Harrow” talk, but it should be noted that a five star point guard is on the way next season. That does not grant him a pass on the current situation. A lot of this season depends on Javi’s development, in my opinion.

Is he still learning on the job? Of course he is. Is that not a good thing, though? When you are not learning, then what are you doing?

Yes, the players are all his now, with the lone exception of Horner. I fail to see this as an excuse. It is more of an indictment, is it not? This season will show whether or not he has been able to develop any of his players, with Tracy Smith being a big part of that.

Yes, the Pack is young. Is it an excuse, a fact or both?

Well yes but one learns on the job in HS,etc not in the ACC or you get a big time X and O guy to help him .I have nothing against Sid ,but seriously he is never accountable for anything . Hands down Sid’s best year and best results were his first year and his success was based on Astur being healthy.Everyone throws out how all of his shortcomings were do to having to coach Herb’s players.
The past 3 years have shown me that Sid is in way over his head coaching at this level.
