ESPN’s Dick Vitale broke the story today that Lute Olson is retiring from coaching at the University of Arizona. The 74 year old Olson has had quite a few medical issues the past few years, and it’s reported that this is a “health related” retirement. CBS Sportsline’s Gary Parrish thinks that Gonzaga and Pitt had better watch out, because Mark Few and Jamie Dixon could be the prime targets as Olson’s replacement. Both coaches would be excellent choices, and could take Arizona back to where it belongs at the top of the Pac 10.
