The Rockies have announced that Huston Street will be working the ninth for them this season. If I get time later, I’ll break down my thoughts and if he actually deserved it over Manny Corpas, who has been absolutely dominant in Spring Training while Street has gotten rocked. For now, Street is a valuable arm on your fantasy team, and he will most likely regain form and be dominant in the regular season. Corpas is a great handcuff though, and should not be ignored.

Jonathan Sanchez is a left handed starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. Do not be fooled by his 5.01 ERA from last season, but rather look at his 157 Ks over 158 innings. That is right ladies, dude sits hitters down at about one per inning. PECOTA says Sanchez should continue that trend (128 Ks projected) , and post an ERA of 4.24 over 135 innings. While he may not rack up a lot of wins, which you certainly want from your starters, he will rack up the strikeouts and have a decent WHIP at 1.37. My suggestion is to stash Sanchez and spot start him accordingly. As the number five guy in the rotation, he will either face a dominant one most of the time or he will draw the bottom of the opposition’s staff. The upside with Sanchez is tremendous, and if everything clicks he could lower his projected ERA by up to a point and tally another 40 or so strikeouts (over his projected128).
