Carl Crawford stole six bases yesterday. Six. That brings his total to 17 on the year if you are counting, which you should be. Carl was 4/4 with two runs scored, an RBI, a walk, and did not strike out a single time in yesterday’s win over Boston.
Dude is having a great start to the 2009 season. He leads the Majors with those 17 bags nabbed, and is hitting .317 with 16 runs and 11 RBIs. Sure, he has not going deep yet and his OPS is only .769, but you can afford to give a little there for the help in SB, AVG and Runs. Crawford is set to have a huge year, so good work by you if he graces your roster.

No big surprise here, as anyone who follows this crappy blog knows that we are big fans of Evan Longoria. The White Sox’ Alexei Ramirez came in second place, with Boston’s Jacoby Ellsbury coming in third.
It was a great Game 3, and I have plenty of thoughts. Hit them up after the jump. Continue reading ‘Game 3 Controversy, Umps drop another Palin on the Phils’
In Game One, we got the “Balk” controversy that I still have not seen the proper replay angles on to decide for myself if the call was correct. My gut tells me Hamels did not balk, and with a lack of evidence to the contrary, I am going to side with Blue on that one. Game Two’s controversial call after the jump. Continue reading ‘Game Two Controversy, The Phils’ Turn (Updated)’
The Devil Rays are upset about a call that went against them in last night’s Game One of the World Series. They do have some room to be upset, but they need to realize they had 11 more outs to go in the game that they could have capitalized on. More after the jump. Continue reading ‘Game One Controversy’
Tonight marks the start of the 2008 World Series between the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (yes, I know they dropped the devil from their name, but I refuse to fall in line!) and the Philadelphia Phillies. Who will win? My thoughts after the jump. Continue reading ‘World Series Predictions’
It looks like as many as eight teams are in on the Will Ohman sweepstakes, including the Red Sox, Devil Rays and Yankees. Keep your eye on this one, because I have a feeling someone is about to overpay for a damned good reliever.

It’s been over a month since we last checked in with Evan Longoria. When we did, his average was down to .230, and he was mired in a slump. He isn’t slumping anymore, with nine hits in his last six games. Three of those hits have sailed over the outfield walls, bringing his total to ten homeruns on the year. While he still strikes out too much, his .333 OBP is decent thanks to his 24 bases on balls.
Your fantasy impact after the jump. Continue reading ‘Checking in on Longo – June 10th, 2008′
